Employee Recognition Program

Recognizing Excellence

The National Book Service Recognizing Excellence program was established to formally recognize employees who have exemplified one or more of the three traits that we believe to be fundamental to the functioning of a high-performance team - "Mastery", "Chemistry" and "Ingenuity".

We believe that formal recognition of employee accomplishments is one of the most sincere forms of appreciation and it all begins with making an effort to find someone who, through their actions, has embodied one or more of the above attributes. It's then formalized by taking the time to craft an acknowledgement by way of the Recognizing Excellence form.

Mastery is a dedication to excellence in everything we do and is a relentless drive to become true experts in our field. It is a commitment to personal and professional growth with an understanding that constant improvement is a vital key to reaching true mastery.

Chemistry is an understanding of different personalities and empathy towards other's needs. It is about building strong win/win relationship upon a foundation of respect with truth-telling, promise-keeping and sincere interest.

Ingenuity is a deep understanding of the value of positive change and reaching for the stars. It is an unyielding drive towards contributing ideas that have a significant and positive impact on the work that we do.

The names of all recognized employees for any given month will be showcased throughout the company. At the end of each year, one employee for each trait named above will be selected as the employee who has most personified these attributes. In recognition of their accomplishments, each of these employees will be presented with a keepsake, a cash award and their names and pictures will be permanently displayed throughout National Book Service.

We encourage all National Book Service valued customers and suppliers to seek out people making a difference. Please take the time to thank them personally and punctuate their contribution by completing our online Recognition form.
